In addition to giving 100% of silent auction funds raised to established Alaska breast cancer organizations, PRD Charities, Inc. has volunteers who annually assemble and distribute about 350 “comfort bags” to breast cancer patients. The "comfort bags" are distributed through Oncology and medical offices located in Alaska. A complimentary “comfort bag” includes items that can bring relief to a newly diagnosed breast cancer patient and to those with reoccuring disease. Item examples include: neckroll, quilt, thick socks, CDs, journal, lotions, literature, cancer cookbook, pink ribbon pillow cases and jewelry, water bottle, etc.--all packed in a Pink Ribbon cloth tote bag. The approximate retail value of the 350 chemo bags donated in 2007 was $26,000.

"The neck pillow (given in comfot bag) was great, lots of traveling to doctor appointments and sleeping in the car…The bag was lots of fun and really lifted my spirits. I put all the stuff I need to take to chemo in it with me, it's so perfect."
